R&F Encaustic Translucent Colour Set
This set includes jewel-toned translucent colours, which are perfect for subtle glazes. This set features six R&F studio-size 40 ml cakes of Encaustic wax paints and comes packaged in Ampersand's cradled 6" x 6" Encausticbord™.

Encaustic is a type of wax-based paint made from beeswax, damar resin, and pigment. This paint is kept molten on a heated palette and applied to an absorbent surface. To fuse the paint, it is reheated after application. The term “encaustic” originates from the Greek word 'enkaustikos', which means “to burn in,” highlighting the process of fusing the paint with heat.
