What is encaustic art?
Encaustic comes from Greek (enkaustikos) which means ‘to burn in’. Encaustics uses pigmented beeswax as a painting medium. The encaustic paint is heated/melted with various tools and applied to various substrates. Tools are used to manipulate;and shape the wax, including: heat gun, encaustic iron, encaustic stylus, scribe tools, Other media, such as pigment sticks, pan pastel and inks can be used in conjunction with encaustics.
How long does it take to ship my order?
Generally, we ship daily, Monday – Saturday and orders are processed and shipped within 24 business hours. Occasionally shipping may take longer due to high volume orders.
How do you ship my order?
Most orders are shipped via Australia Post. Larger or bulky orders may go via courier services. *Bulky items and regional locations may incur additional fees.*
Do you have a store or do you only offer online sales?
We are a family owed business with a retail store with all our encaustic products displayed. We share our store front with our other business Metropolitan Framing right in the Swan Valley.
Do you sell wholesale?
Our primary focus is retailing encaustic products in Australia, we do not offer wholesale prices, we do offer specials and discounts on bulk items. Please ask our staff for more details.
Is your site secure for payment?
There are many payment options available to you the customer, including PayPal, EFT, Cash and Credit Card. We also accept telephone orders and we have credit card facilities instore.
Out of stock items.
At Encaustic Australia, we make every effort to keep goods in stock, however we also run a retail store and items sometimes sell on the shop floor. Demands for some items are sometimes difficult to predict, however, we make every effort to restock items, some imported products may take longer to restock. Be sure to register online with our out of stock item, an email will be automatically sent to you once stocks return.

We aim to keep our freight charges as low as possible. Our freight is shipped via Australia Post, larger or bulkier items may be shipped via Courier Services (extra charges may apply). *Bulky items and regional locations may incur additional fees.* We also welcome store picks for local residents.
